SILVER

FINANCIAL REQUIREMENTS

1. Applicants are required to place a fixed deposit (FD) of USD150,000 in any Malaysian financial institution licensed under the Financial Services Act 2013 [Act 758] or the Islamic Financial Services Act 2013 [Act 759].
2. After MM2H approval, up to 50% of the fixed deposit may be withdrawn for approved purposes, including property purchase, education, medical treatment, and tourism-related activities in Malaysia.

PARTICIPATING FEE (ONE-OFF)

1. A one-time participation fee of RM1,000 is payable for each principal applicant.

2. No participation fee is required for dependants.

PURCHASE OF RESIDENCE

1. It is compulsory to purchase and own a residential property after MM2H approval.

2. The minimum property value is RM600,000 or above.
3. The property must be held for at least 10 years. However, upgrading to a higher-value property is allowed.
4. Non-compliance with these conditions may result in revocation of the MM2H pass.

MINIMUM LENGTH OF STAY

1. Participants must stay in Malaysia for a minimum of 90 cumulative days per year.

2. For applicants aged 25 to 49, this requirement may be fulfilled by the principal applicant and/or their dependants.

DEPENDENTS

Eligible dependants include:

1. Spouse (husband or wife)

2. Children (biological, step, or adopted) below 21 years old

3. Unmarried and unemployed children aged 21 to 34 while in Malaysia

4. Medically certified disabled children (no age limit)

5. Parents and/or parents-in-law

MM2H PASS

1. The MM2H pass is issued for a period of 5 years with a Multiple Entry Visa (MEV).

2. The pass is renewable.

3. Its validity is subject to the validity of the participant’s passport.

4. If the passport expires before the MM2H pass, renewal of the pass is required.

EDUCATION

Dependants are allowed to pursue tertiary education in government-recognised institutions in Malaysia. They may continue under the MM2H pass or be issued a Student Pass if required.

MEDICAL

Participants are permitted to receive long-term medical treatment in Malaysia during the validity of their MM2H pass.

BUSINESS/INVESTMENT ACTIVITIES

Not permitted under this category.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

Not permitted under this category.

MEDICAL CHECK-UP

A compulsory medical examination must be conducted at clinics or hospitals appointed by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture for both the principal applicant and dependants upon approval.

CATEGORY SPECIALITY

Participants are eligible for tax exemption on foreign-sourced income, including returns generated from fixed deposits.

CHANGE OF PRINCIPAL

In the event of the principal’s death, the MM2H pass may be transferred to the next-of-kin among registered dependants.

TERMS OF RENEWAL OF MM2H PASS

  • The MM2H pass may be renewed every five years upon completion of the programme term.
  • Applicants are required to submit the following documents:
  1. Valid passport copy
  2. Latest medical report
  3. Proof of health insurance
  • Renewal fee: RM1,500 for both principal and dependants.
